Ramp-Up - CI/CD Glossary Definition

Ramp-up is the period at the start of a load test during which virtual users are added gradually rather than all at once, so the system warms up and results are not skewed by a cold start.

Why gradual

A gradual ramp lets caches fill, connection pools open, and JIT compilers warm, isolating steady-state performance from startup effects.
