# What moving off GitHub-hosted runners saves you

Source: https://latchkey.dev/pricing/savings

Enter the minutes your jobs run each month, by runner size. We price them at GitHub’s list rates and at ours, with the Latchkey plan fee and free minutes counted, so a small team sees the plan fee and a busy one sees the per-minute gap.

## Savings calculator

- 16,000 min/mo

### Latchkey Launch cheapest plan that fits

$142.00 − $69.00 = $73.00 a month

Assumes the minutes per size as entered, list rates on both sides, and free minutes spent in small-equivalent units on the cheapest size first.

## How the estimate works

List prices for Linux x64 on both sides, for the same core count, with no discounts. The Latchkey side counts the plan fee, seats past those included, and minutes past the free ones.

| Size | GitHub-hosted | Latchkey | Difference |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| small | $6.00 | $2.50 | $3.50 (58%) |
| medium | $12.00 | $5.00 | $7.00 (58%) |
| large | $22.00 | $10.00 | $12.00 (55%) |
| xlarge | $42.00 | $20.00 | $22.00 (52%) |

1. GitHub-hosted Every minute at GitHub’s rate From $0.006 a minute at 2 vCPU to $0.042 at 16 vCPU. Minutes included with a GitHub plan are not subtracted, so if your plan includes minutes, your GitHub-hosted bill is lower than shown.
2. Latchkey Plan fee, then minutes past the free ones The cheapest plan that holds your repositories and seats, plus $0.0025 to $0.0200 a minute once its free minutes are used, and $5 a month for each seat past those included.
3. Free minutes Counted in small-equivalent minutes Free runner minutes are counted in small-equivalent units: a minute on latchkey-small counts as one, medium as two, large as four, and xlarge or a custom runner as eight, and the included allowance on every plan is unchanged. Every size is priced at $0.0025 per small-equivalent minute, so the free minutes are worth the same whichever sizes use them.

Latchkey bills per minute, rounded up per job, so a fleet of very short jobs runs above this estimate. Windows, macOS, arm64 and GPU runners are not offered today.

## Before you move a workflow

Commit a workflow file to run on Latchkey CI, or change one `runs-on:` line to keep your GitHub Actions workflows on Latchkey on GH. These cover what else changes, and how Latchkey compares with the other providers.
